Israel’s War Against Palestine: Documenting the Military Occupation of Palestinian and Arab Lands

Art: Emily Henochowicz

Emily Henochowicz is a talented young American artist and peace activist. On May 31, 2010, Emily was hit in the face by a tear gas canister shot at her during a demonstration in support of the Gaza Flotilla in Qalandiya, in the occupied West Bank near Jerusalem. As a result of her injuries, Emily lost an eye and had to undergo several surgeries. Based on reports, there is every reason to believe that the Israeli Occupation soldier who shot Emily aimed to hit her. Emily has recovered in the US and, as is evident from her blog, she’s very strong, has an amazingly optimistic outlook, and she remains active.
